To launch our new season off, we are presenting a special Gala Outdoor Chamber Music Concert and reception to benefit the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra to which you are cordially invited on Sunday, September 7th (rain date: September 14th). The event will be held on the grounds of Manor Lake, the home of the late Amos Newcombe, on North Manor Ave. (off Ulster Ave.) in Kingston, NY.
The event begins at 1:00 and will last until 4:00 with an array of musicians performing throughout. You can traverse the wonderful grounds of “Manor Lake” and take in many “acts” each performing short “sets” of music, and also take a break and have some refreshments and talk to members of the orchestra & board. A schedule of the performances and programs for each act will be available, and each act will perform twice during the event to enable you to have a better chance to hear everything!
This special concert will feature music from various members of the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra and friends: the flute duo of Lynn Peck & Marisa Trees, concertmistress Betty-Jean Hagen‘s Tourmaline String Quartet, flutist Marisa Trees & classical guitarist Gregory Dinger, duo-bassoonists Elisabeth Romano & Melissa Brown, and soprano Kimberly Kahan (our stunning soloist in the WCO’s April 2014 concert) with Greg Dinger‘s guitar.
We hope we can count on your support at this event to help launch the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra‘s 35th season! The suggested per-person donation for this event is $50 (students accompanied by an adult are free). If you would like to attend but can’t but would like to show your support, a donation to the WCO is of course appreciated. For more information on this event or directions you can contact the WCO at (845) 679-6431 and your call will be returned. We hope to see you on Sept. 7 for a wonderful afternoon of diverse music in celebration of the continued success of the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra.
